The Atlanta Braves cruised to a 7 to 2 victory over the Cincinnati Reds at
Great American Bpk.
Atlanta promptly took the lead in their half of the first scoring 2 runners on
2 hits. The key offensive moment was provided by Evan Gattis who silenced
the stadium when he cleared the fences for a two-run home run. Atlanta
out-hit Cincinnati for the game, 12 hits to 9.
The winning pitcher was Kris Medlen(1-0) who allowed 1 run in 6 innings.
Johnny Cueto(0-1) was charged with the loss. He pitched 6 innings giving up
