The game was tense and shaped up as a pitchers duel between Jon Lester and Scott Feldman. Both pitchers scattered baserunners but kept the opponent off the board until the 7th, when the O's drew first blood with back-to-back doubles from Adam Jones and Nick Markakis. Fortunately for the Sox, Daniel Nava was ready to even it up with a solo homer in the bottom of the inning.
Lester put up donuts in the 8th and 9th, and must have gassed it up because he had 2 Ks in the 8th and struck out the side in the 9th, including AL MVP Chris Davis.
Tommy Hunter relieved Feldman in the 6th, and was still in the game in the bottom of the 9th. Nava led off with a single and I immediately substituted Quintin Berry as a pinch runner. Jarrod Saltalamacchia struck out, but then Drew came up to the plate and had his hero moment.
Lester allowed just 1 ER in each of his starts and won them both, but how can Drew not be the series MVP? He hit .389 and his 5 RBI leads the team for the series.
The Sox-Tigers ALCS is a rematch of real life, where it was won by the Sox in 6. It is also a rematch of 2011's ALDS, won by Detroit in 4. This will be the 4th straight ALCS appearance for the Tigers in my replays.

Jon Lester came through with a solid 9 innings as the Boston Red Sox won at
Fenway Park in dramatic fashion over the Baltimore Orioles, the final score,
3 to 1.
Boston won the game with a rally in the bottom of the 9th inning scoring 2
runs utilizing 2 base hits. Daniel Nava got things going when he lined a
base-hit. Jarrod Saltalamacchia got his turn next, but he was a strikeout
victim. Stephen Drew then popped a two-run clout over the fence giving
Boston the victory and sending the 34,540 home-town fans home happy. The
teams had been locked in a scoreless duel until the 7th inning.
The victory went to Lester(2-0) who went the distance allowing 1 run. Tommy
Hunter(0-2) ended up with the loss in relief. He was knocked around,
surrendering 3 runs in 2 and 2/3 innings.
