October 17, 2013: Tigers 5 Red Sox 4 (11) (Red Sox lead ALCS, 3-2)

The Tigers prove they aren't going down without a fight. They were losing 4-0 going into the bottom of the 7th, but score 2 in the 7th and 2 in the 8th to tie it up, before winning the game on an Omar Infante walk-off single in the bottom of the 11th. In the 7th they got a Prince Fielder walk followed by back-to-back singled from Victor Martinez and Alex Avila, while in the 8th Miguel Cabrera went deep for his 7th HR of the ALCS and his 9th of the playoffs, both records as far as I can tell.

In the 119th, Fielder singled and Avila walked, but there were 2 outs when Infante came up and won the game off Brandon Workman.

The series returns to Fenway Park for game 6, and John Lackey will try to take it home for the Sox, while Justin Verlander will try to send it to game 7.

Miguel Cabrera jacked one out of the ballyard and had 2 RBI at Comerica Park
where the Detroit Tigers beat the Boston Red Sox in 11 innings 5 to 4.

The score was knotted at 4 after nine innings. Detroit won the hard fought
contest in the 11th inning. After an out was recorded, Prince Fielder
delivered a one-base hit. One out later, Alex Avila stepped in and he drew a
walk. Omar Infante then slapped a single resulting in an exciting win for
Detroit and a raucous post-game celebration by the home town fans. For the
game Detroit out-hit Boston 12 to 8.

The win was credited to Joaquin Benoit(1-0) who went 2 and 1/3 innings
allowing no runs. Brandon Workman(0-2) ended up with the loss in relief.
