October 23, 2013: Red Sox 8 Nationals 0 (Red Sox lead World Series, 1-0)

Game 1 of the 2013 World Series is all Red Sox. The Sox were the first team to get on the board in the 4th on a Shane Victorino solo homer, then they busted it open in the 6th with 6 runs. 5 of the first 6 batters in the inning got hits, chasing Nationals started Jordan Zimmermann from the game. 3 runs were in at that point, and Ian Krol allowed 2 more hits than scored 3 more runs. Clay Buchholz even had an RBI single in the inning, his 2nd single of the game! Of course Buchholz really lead the team from the mound, pitching 7 shutout innings. Brandon Workman and Franklin Morales each picked up an inning to preserve the shutout.

Jake Peavy will duel Gio Gonzalez in game 2.
