Designated hitter Delmon Young slammed a homerun and had 3 RBI as the
Philadelphia Phillies came back to win one over Boston Red Sox, 6 to
5.
Philadelphia scored the winning runs in the top of the 9th inning plating 2
runs on 2 base hits. After an out was recorded, Jimmy Rollins was the
sparkplug when he lashed a single. Ryan Howard was a strikeout victim,
unable to help out. Young then clubbed a two-run home run. Antonio
Bastardo(2-1) was helped out by Jonathan Papelbon who pitched a perfect ninth
and recorded his 16th save.
Koji Uehara(2-1) ended up with the loss in relief. 'We just kept swinging the
bats and didn't give up,' Young said. 'If you just keep trying good things
can happen!'

May 27, 2013: Phillies 6 Red Sox 5
The Red Sox 17-game winning streak ends in the worst possible way - a 2-run homer in the top of the 9th, and the Phillies closer Jonathan Papelbon puts the Sox down 1-2-3 in the bottom of the 9th to earn the save.
